How to Play Casino War

Casino War is a simple and fast-paced casino card game that is based on the childhood game of “War”. The game is played with six standard 52-card decks, and the decks are ranked as they are in poker, with the Ace being the highest card.

Here are the basic rules for playing Casino War:

  1. Place Your Bet: To start, players place a wager.
  2. Deal the Cards: The dealer then deals one card to all players and to themselves.
  3. Compare Cards: The player’s card is then compared to the dealer’s card. If the player’s card is higher, they win even money on their bet. If the dealer’s card is higher, the player loses their bet.
  4. War: If the player and the dealer have the same card (a tie), the player has two options:
    • They can surrender, in which case they will lose half of their bet.
    • They can declare “war”. If the player declares war, they must double their original bet. The dealer will then discard three cards before dealing another card to both the player and themselves. If the player’s card matches or beats the dealer’s card, they win even money on their raised bet and a push on their original bet. If the dealer’s card is higher, the player loses both bets.

Some casinos also offer a tie bet, which pays out 10 to 1 if the first two cards tie, though this significantly increases the house edge.

Despite its simplicity, Casino War has a higher house edge compared to other casino games. However, it remains popular due to its simplicity, speed, and the nostalgic connection to the childhood game of War. It’s important to play responsibly and not bet more than you are willing to lose.
